Zip Lining
Many find zip lining an exhilarating experience for many. It allows you to travel through the jungle tree tops, and see many things you typically wouldn't see at ground level. Duration: Half Day Note: This tour is typically paired with another half day tour, making for a full-day activity. Departure Time: 6:30 a.m. at dock Returning: 4:30-5:00 p.m. GEAR INCLUDED Zip Lining: helmet, gloves, harness Included: Cold bottled water, sodas and a light snack are included in most tours. Transportation to & from the site, as well as a licensed tour guide. Full day activities typically include lunch, half day activities DO NOT. What to Bring: Camera, cell phone, personal medications (for the day), light rain jacket or windbreaker, sunscreen, insect repellent, sunglasses, hat. Back pack with long pants and shirt that allow for movement and can get wet, good walking shoes (sneakers or hiking boots), a full change of clothes, and personal toiletries. Cash for paying the park fees (if applicable) and tipping your guide. Parental Note: Strollers and young children typically don't work well with many of the jungle activities. Be sure to ask about height and age requirements before booking any activity. Note: The gear not included in the tour, can usually be put on a credit card, with park fees needing to be paid in cash. Description: Belize is well-known for its lush tropical rainforest, outstanding wildlife and biodiversity. This tour is by far, one of the most popular tours in Belize. Feel at one with nature, as you fly through the air surrounded by rainforest. This is one of the most exhilarating feelings you will ever experience. You will find yourself eye level with birds, and Howler Monkeys, as you whisk through tree tops (Tarzan style). Experience a bird’s-eye view of the Belizean jungle, which cannot be seen from the ground.
The Zip Line Adventure consists of (10) zip line platforms, each strategically located within the rainforest canopy. All platforms are connected by a double cable (each capable of withstanding 2,000 pounds of weight). All landing platforms are equipped with safety gear, handrails and guides, to ensure your personal safety throughout the tour. Some platforms are as high as (85-feet) into the canopy, and as far apart as (250-feet) apart. Upon arriving to the site, you will be given a short safety briefing, on the proper way to zip line. Then you will be fitted with a harness, helmet, gloves and a series of metal clip clamps. As you climb to your first platform, your guide will explain how to slow down your speed, position your body and where to place your hands. You will be securely fastened to a harness that is attached to a cable, by an experienced guides at each platform. As you push-off from each platform, your line will lead you to another platform. Your journey begins with your first platform, which is about (150-feet) away from the second platform. This run has been specifically designed to be a practice run, so you can feel comfortable with what to expect. Some lines are longer than others, but all offer the same amazing adventure, as you cross over lush rainforest, a river and experience the thrill of the jungle. |
Zip lining through the tree-tops is an exhilarating way to enjoy the Belizean jungle. This tour is for those looking for a little adventure, while still maintaining safety standards. This is a 2 hour tour, which takes through about 15 different zip line runs. Each metal cable is securely fastened a tree at each end. Each landing point, is secured by a banister platform, joining you to your next run. All zip liner participants, are outfitted with gear, and securely fasten to a series of metal cable for the entire tour.
For those interested in staying dry, the canopy top zip line adventure is available as a trip in itself. Zip lining is as close as you can get to flying over the jungle. As you soar from tree to tree like Tarzan, experience a bird’s-eye view of the Belize jungle, and scenery that cannot be seen from the ground. Zip lines are sturdy metal cables that run for hundreds of feet through the jungle canopy. Participants climb to platforms mounted high up in the trees and then are attached to secure harnesses that are attached to the cables or zip lines. Participants then launch themselves into the air, sailing at high speed through the rain-forest, giving them an excellent view of the plants and animals that call the canopy home. Some lines are longer than others but all offer the same amazing adventure cross over the lush rain-forest and river and experience the thrill of the jungle. You will be securely fastened to a harness that is attached to a cable by expert guides & platform directors. With the push-off from each platform, which is situation up in a tree, the lines lead from one platform to another. If you’re not comfortable with heights, don’t look down! Special Note: Children can participate in this tour as long as they are at least four feet tall. |
